Kitty,
If you are talking about Chemo easy recipes....Here is one from our Terrific Tips section from one of our old members, Kathleen.....It has proven to be very good for Chemo Tummy.....
Hope this helps. If you need others, please let me know:
12/31/2001 1:14 AM Posted by Kathleen Terrific Tip: For chemo tummy, loss of appetite, for you just don't feel like cooking a meal for yourself....I used the following recipe for Instant Potato Soup. It is easy, nutritious and very soothing for the queasiness and nausea some of us have experienced.
Potato Soup Mix
1-3/4 cups instant mashed potatoes 1-1/2 cups dry milk 2 Tb. instant chicken boullion 2 tsp. dried minced onion 1 tsp. dried parsley 1/4 tsp. ground white pepper 1/4 tsp. dried thyme 1/8 tsp. turmeric (optional...it adds little flavor but gives the soup a nice color) 1-1/2 tsp. seasoning salt
Combine all ingredients. in a bowl and mix. Makes 6 servings. Place in 1 quart canning jars to store.
Instructions to attach to jar: To serve: place 1/2 cup mix in soup bowl and add 1 cup boiling water. Stir until smooth.
I made up a batch of this mix when I first started chemo and it was a lifesaver for me.

Ruth,
I will definitely use this. I caught a cold so I won't be able to start cooking until the end of this week.

Cara... I had to look after myself during chemo and my favourite food was rice (basmati) with a tin of flavoured tuna (the hotter the better to cut through the nasty taste in mouth due to the chemo) tossed in and a bowl of diced cucumber with a vinegar/sugar/salty dressing.
Can't face it these days but it was a quick and easy meal then.
Otherwise thin soups with lots of vegies were a good standby too.
Ginger is good against nausea and a little fresh ginger grated into a cup of ordinary tea is good.
Also good against nausea. Dill cumcumbers!
Good luck, thinking of you and your struggles.

Silver,
Thanks for the ideas! My dad and mom eat tuna so that is a great idea for them. I will try to make some more soups and freeze them. Dad's first week of chemo/rads has been pretty good. This is his 2nd week and he said his lips are drying out. (I made him a basket and it had some lip balm in it.)
Dill cucumbers? Wow! I never would have thought of that! I will tell them about that.
You are sweet to help me. Thank you lots and lots!

Kitty, this may sound strange, but when I had the tram flap surgery the only thing that tasted good to me for about 2 weeks was dill pickles and water. I know my youngest daughter drank (yes, I said drank) dill pickle juice when she was pregnant with her oldest daughter and it was about the only thing that would stay put for awhile when she was in her first 3 months of pregnancy. Hope things will go well for your dad! Love, Sherrie

Sherrie,
This makes me laugh! I can't imagine drinking pickle juice!
So, far, Dad is doing fine. It is his 2nd week of chemo. He has the pump. The doctor's have postponed giving him the other chemo for some reason. If he ever gets sick, I will bring him the pickle jars!
Thanks everyone! I just love all of you girls!
