Friends,
It is with a very heavy heart that I tell you this. We have lost a very special friend.
Our beloved Gail (GailyWhaley) passed away yesterday.
It is very difficult to write this because we had such a special bond with Gail. She has been a member of Friends In Touch since 2001 when we had only 30 or so members.
Gail got married last year to Richard, the love of her life.
I can't say enough about her strong will and attitude. She fought a very long and difficult battle with strength and bravery. Here is a photo that she posted on our Photo page in April 2009.
She last posted in May 2010, saying that she was struggling with Breast Cancer Mets. I've been in touch with her since then. She was hospitalized a few days ago.
Please keep her family in your prayers. I will post her information on our Remembrance Page.
Gail, I love you and will miss you.

Oh Ruth, what a shock reading your post. RIP dear Gail...she was such a brave and courageous fighter right to the end...and was always ready and willing to help and advice others on this site. I remember when my dear "Abby" dog died, and I was scheduled for surgery on my breast that same week, Gail being the angel she was emailed me a long email and really lifted my spirits...what kindness she showed to me when I was at such a low spot in my life. I just know that she is now flying with the angels and is once again happy and without pain...my prayers for her dear family and you too Ruth...I know how special she was to you! Hugs my friend, Jane

When our sisters leave us, there are no words that can express the impact. I will miss Gail.

Our Gail was such a character, one with a strong will to live and a wonderful sense of humor. The "Rice Chat" we had with her a few years ago will never be forgotten...we all laughed so hard...I nearly fell off my chair!
Rest in peace, dear one and know that we will never forget you.
Love, Karen

Gail will be missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing her. To me she was a special friend, courageous, loving, funny and compassionate. These are just a few words that express the kind loving person that Gail was. Her presence on this board and the previous FIt made it a spacial place for people to come. She warmly welcomed new members and made us laugh until we cried. RIP dear friend you have touched so many lives with warm friendship. Forever in our hearts. Love, Sue

This is one of the saddest things I have had to write in a long time. My friend has passed away. She was such an inspiration to me and many others. It is so remarkable the strength and courage that Gail had. She always smiled even on her saddest days. You could be down in the dumps with depression and feeling sorry for yourself and Gail, only Gail, would be the one, even if she was down in the dumps herself, to have uplifting words for you to cheer you up. She never put herself first in anything. My ultimate memory of Gail is her crafts. See, Gail loved Holidays, but during Christmas time she always made her ornaments and Christmas decorations. I haven't put up a tree in years, I am single and saw no reason. Do not have any family here in NJ so I didn't bother. Gail always posted pictures of her beautiful ornaments. This past year she posted pictures as she always did, but she posted a manger that she made, all by hand and all the decorations. Well that did it. That put me in the spirit. I always told her she should make these and sell them. I definitely would have been the first buyer especially for that manger, I love it. It was only Gail that put me in the Christmas spirit. Now every Christmas I will think of Gail and that manger. If she can make all these fabulous decorations while going through treatments then I certainly can get into the spirit. Well Gail....from here on out all my Christmas's are for you honey! Oh oh oh and let me not forget those absolutely gorgeous baby blues of hers. Those eyes just danced and smiled at you. I so wish I had them. Gail, you are finally at peace. You have been our angel down here and now you are our angel in heaven sprinkling all of that angel dust over us. I feel blessed to have someone such as you to watch over me and everyone. You put up a good fight girl! Rest easily now. I love you and miss you. Keep those baby blues coming down on us!!!!
