Hi, all--I'm the newbie AndiPanda (see my lengthy story on Caner Stories thread). I wanted to know if anyone else has had the kind of radiation I had as I've never run into anyone who has---where a radon pellet is inserted into a temprary tube like a drainage tube, except it has a bulb on the end of it nestled in the cavity left where your tumor was removed. Twice a day you go in, the tube is hooked up to a machine full of radon pellets, and one pellet cones down into the tube and goes into the bulb where it sits and does it's radiation thing for whatever time the patient has been prescribed--for me, it was 10 minutes twice a day for 9 days. That's it--radiation over. I wanted to know how it went for any of you who had it.When I did it I was only the 500th patient in a 5-year old program. Happy New Year and thanks to Ruth for helping to try to get me on the old site (wouldn't let me on but she kept trying for 2 months at least). I'm glad the site moved so I could join you--as a 4 year survivor of neg 3 cancer, I'd like to be able to help if and where I can. ((((((((((hugs)))))))))))to you all! Andi

Welcome, Andi! I had the traditional form of radiation therapy, so I can't compare notes. How are you doing now? Seems like there would be a lot less side effects from the way you had your rads.... Happy New Year to you too--- Love and hugs, Mary

Hi, Andi! I'm glad you were able to join this site. I never heard of any treatment like yours. All the time, I am learning new ways cancer is being treated. Kitty
