Well Ladies, Here we go again. The doctor is putting another Port in tomorrow. The breat cancer has metastized to the lungs. They took the tumor out on Dec 3, 2008. It was in the lower left lobe. The doc did what he called a Vlung resection with VATS. So, he didn't have crack me open. He went in between the 7th and 8th ribs. Still really sore from that. But that the only spot on my body. The doc did a frozen biopsy on the spot and all the margins are clear. Still no lymph involement. Have to run all the scans again and start chemo next week. Four rounds of taxatere and 52 weeks of Herceptin. Gonna be a l-o-n-g year. Well that's the way it is on Jan 14, 2009.

Lori,
I am sad to hear about your mets. Cancer is so devastating. However, it is great to hear about clean margins and no lymph node involvement. I didn't have to have chemo but any suggestions you have, I will listen since my father is going through treatments right now.
I'm praying for you. Kitty

You are in my prayers girlfriend..........I hate hearing about the lung mets........but, like Grits said,,,,,there are a lot of new meds out there now......Have they mentioned Herceptin? I know some of our members have had really good results from that with Lung Mets.
Hugs, Ruth

Thank you all for kind and uplifting words. It really helps to know that people do care. Ruth - I did herceptin for a year every three weeks on the first go around. this treatment will include a year of herceptin every week for one year and taxatere for four rounds. I go Monday for staging PET/CT Scan, see the doctor on Tuesday and we start the plan. Hopefully the PET scan is clear. The only spot they found on the last PET scan was removed in December. Hugs, Belle (Lori)
