Hello to this wonderful group. I am so happy to find this group. I am 64 years old, a retired RN living in Hayward, WI. Diagnosed in Sept. 2009 and just going to start chemo in January. I am very scared about what my future holds. I know this group will help keep me going through this ordeal. Thank you so much for putting this together.

A BIG welcome Sweetiepie...I'm Jane (Grits) and am so glad you've found your way to this wonderful group of ladies. I'm 60 yrs old and was dx w/ Breast Cancer (Invasivve Ductal Carcinoma w/malignant neoplasms to the bones and bone marrow) Stage IV in Feb '07. Went through 4 Adriamycins and 13 Taxols then had surgery and had a partial mastectomy in Sept'07. I'm currently doing great and continue with infusions of Zometa every eight weeks for my bone cancer. Anything I can ever help you with just post and I'll try and get back to you as soon as possible. Welcome again and you are definitely now included in my prayers! Hugs, Jane

Hi Sweetiepie,
I just read your Breast Cancer Story and know exactly what you are going through........It's a very scary proposition....Actually, the "mental" part can be worse then the physical part. You've already had your mastectomy, so you know that it is not the worse surgery in the world, but the worry and fear are enough to bring you to your knees.......Listen hun...We've ALL been through it and we'll be here for you.........
Any questions...post them and someone will answer you. There is not much out there that at least one of us hasn't been through. We can help you with "what to expect"....and we can support you when you want to scream, rant and rave....We're real good at that........
Keeping you in my prayers and PLEASE stay in touch.
Hugs, Ruth

Hi Sweetiepie ~ I'm Karen, an almost 9 year survivor treated with 7 weeks of radiation therapy and doing very well now.
Being diagnosed with BC is scary. Remember that we're here for you to help you along the way. Try taking things one day at a time and do let us know if there is any way we can be of help.
Hugs, Karen

Hi Sweetiepie, I am Skeeterpie. When I first saw the name, my eyes were playing tricks, thought it said another skeeterpie on board. Hee hee Now we have a sweetiepie and a skeeterpie, WOW!!!!!! Seriously though, so glad to see you on here, although it is not the best of reasons, we can still offer support to each other and I wish you the best. God bless you and give you strength as you go through this time in your life. Skeeter
