I started my b.cancer journey in 1997. I will try and make this short but still give a bit of an oversight as to what took place. I was 51 at the time, found a lump in my left breast. I acted immediately, got to the dr., after exam, biopsy, found it was cancer. I had a lump. lst, with 10 nodes removed. They were clear but the margins were not around the tissue of the lump. I then had a mast. 9 days later. After healing, was put through 6 months of chemo. I was fine until two years later, found a tiny tiny pea sized bump in the scar line. I again went through the same routine, this time had 6 wks. of radiation. I was put on Tamoxifin after the mast., 2nd occurance, dr. put me on arimidex. I have been on it for about 10 years. In Feb. I will be taken off. I take one day at a time, my faith plays a major role in my attitude and I have a supportive hubby and family, which makes it so much easier to accept. I am est. positive and the two meds. I have been on are what you call est. blockers. Hopefully this has prevented me from another round. I know that this support site has been very very encouraging and wish each of you an easy time if you are also going through this detour in your life. Get your regular check ups and self exams and remember to stay positive and live one day at a time. We all fall short of that but it sure helps the mental part, many have gone through this, do just great, and that is the thought I try to carry each day. God bless each of you who are a part of this site and or who come for a visit.
