Hi Ladies,
I want you to help me to welcome our newest member....Callie. She is scheduled for a bi-lateral mastectomy this coming Wednesday.
Callie, I am so sorry for the reason you joined us, but I'm very happy that you found us........PLEASE keep us posted.
Here is Callie's e-mail to me when she joined us:
Dear Ruth, I am sorry that I failed to tell you about me. I was diagnosed with stage II breast cancer on Jan 7th and am half through with my chemo. I am scheduled for bi-lateral mastectomy on April 8th, but may have to postpone that due to low platelets today. I would love to hear from someone who has gone through this type of treatment.
Please welcome her...................
Hugs, Ruth

Hello Callie, Welcome to Friends In Touch! You found the right breast cancer support group, they are great! I was diagnosed with Stage II breast cancer in 2002. I had the surgery first, then followed up with chemo and radiation. I did have to be in the hospital a couple of days due to a very low white blood count.
I hope your platelets have improved and you will be able to have your surgery as scheduled for April 8th or soon after that. It is a slow process coming back, but the stories you find here show how you can do it and will have a full, rich life ahead of you. I hope you continue to post here and share your story of treatment and healing.
My surgery includes mastectomy of one breast, with immediate implant. After my chemo and radiation, the temporary implant was replaced with a permanent one. I have had success with that and continue to do well.
I wish you the best, Betty

Hi Callie...nice to meet you, although not for the reason. Sorry that you have been diagnosed with breast cancer. Hope your surgery went well and that you're doing better now. Please post an update on things.
Take care and know you're being thought of.
