Since dear Coytecourageous didn't ask a question, I'll answer the previous one. Last time I did a road trip must have been 10 years ago from Adelaide, South Australia to Queensland. Took about 3 weeks and lots seen on route. As the the question before that, I walk on the beach nearly every morning since lucky me lives 5 minutes from it.
When was the last time you spent an evening looking at the stars trying to name as many of them as you could?

Post by Mary on Jan 12, 2009 9:13:04 GMT -5
Well, I did look at the stars just last night and could see Orion and the full moon, but not much else - it was a bit hazy out. It's hard to see lots of stars here where I live in FL - too many night lights on. However, when we go to the Abacos (last time was July '07), we like to do nothing better than sit out on the deck at night and star gaze. From there, we can see the Milky Way, more stars than I could ever have imagined, and also can see various satellites racing around our Earth. So beautiful. Thanks for bringing back that memory, Silver. :-)
When was the last time you laughed so hard you cried?

oops! I'm slipping! and I see some planets in the sky, lol! The last time I laughed so hard I cried...my younger, but adult, daughter and I had shared a bottle of wine with dinner. Rather than drive away immediately from the restaurant, we sat in the parking lot and played karoke with Christmas carols. The funniest was Santa Claus Wants Some Lovin' by Lynard Skynard. Oh, how I love that girl!
When was the last time you sang at the top of your lungs?

Post by silver on Jan 13, 2009 5:56:40 GMT -5
Mary: FL must be Florida yes?... we see Orion here too. Singing...This afternoon while taking in the very crispy washing off the line in 43 degrees (that's centigrade). Crispy from the dryness not frozen. OK so it might not have been at the top of my lungs but singing "Halleluja" (kd lang's version) free and easy. Under the shower too most days.
When was the last time you (and I'm being naughty here because it's so hot and I am) went without underwear?

Silver, yes, FL = Florida (East coast, South of Kennedy Space Center to be more exact)
Coffee with a neighbor, that would have been a couple months ago - wow, I didn't realize it'd been that long... but we were talking about my mom and her breast cancer (DCIS). (She is doing great now, btw).
When was the last time you played a game (board game, Pictionary, Charades, etc.)?

When was the last time you spoke up for a cause?

|
Post by coyotecourageous on Jan 16, 2009 17:16:30 GMT -5
'cause I got so darned mad I couldn't stand it. Nah, I guess it depends on how you define a cause. I am a teacher, so to some, I am a convenience. However, I take my job quite seriously. I feel like I stand up for some right of some child every day. Today, I insisted that an ingredient list be disclosed because of food allergies. Sorry, I'm not much on big causes. I represent the little guys.

I'm laughing and crying with my daughter almost every time I see her! Recently...she was planning a bag to take to the hospital with her pregnant friend. My daughter is gonna provide some distraction from the labor pains. We were trying to think of things to put in the bag and realized this could be a good business for someone. Prepackaged bags, so we laughed over possible names for a business and names for the packages.

It must have been someone in the partial hospitalization program for my mental issues.

Last week i was standing in line at the Supermarket, an elderly man in front of me...the lady at the cash register was telling him he was .76 short...i immediately bent down and when I straightened back up I told the old man that he had just dropped a dollar on the floor! I wanted to protect him from any embarrasment he might feel taking a dollar from me. I wanted so badly to hug him, but he just smiled at me and thanked me for finding his "lost" dollar! When was the last time you volunteerd for something?

again with the tough questions! I don't know. I did take a friend's entire class in with mine rather than have them divided into four classes when she had to teach a group of coworkers. I'm sure I volunteered to go first with the tough questions in a discussion group. but the real volunteer work was probably Relay for Life.

On my last checkup to my Onc...Dec 23rd...a young lady was waiting on her mom to have Chemo and she had a 9 week old baby in a carrier...I was just "dying" to get my hands on her so after sitting with her awhile and talking she was getting ready to nurse the baby and looked over at me and asked if I would like to hold her first........Well, duh...YES...so she gave me the biggest thrill by trusting me with her beautiful "new" treasure. She was soooooo tiny! When was the last time you shared a secret?
